...through my headphones!!

Steve Guttenberg posted an interesting perspective on 'the art' of listening to audio via headphones as opposed to speakers, explaining what we all know very well...how personal sound becomes when listening via headphones.

The article titled 'How to be a better Headphone Listener' caught my attention because I was curious as to how a person can become a better headphone listener. First thought to my mind was that I was obviously missing something, but would definitely find out the 'hidden' secret...which for the most part depends on the headphones you own.

Windows 10 & Piracy

Microsoft's Windows 10 is expected to be released this summer. At a WinHec Conference in China, Terry Myerson's (Microsft's operating system chief) statements were misconstrued causing people to believe that people with unlicensed Windows 7/8 would receive an automatic upgrade to the licensed version of Windows 10.

However, Microsoft quickly corrected this by letting users know the upgrade will not be licensed, or legal. Users with a non genuine version of Windows will 'receive periodic reminders that Windows is not genuine. In addition, to more clearly display these messages, your desktop might turn black. You can reset it, but every 60 minutes, it will return to black until the issue is resolved...if your copy of Windows isn't genuine, you won't be able to install many updates that are exclusively for genuine Windows customers, including Microsoft Security Essentials. Microsoft strongly recommends that you get genuine Microsoft software immediately to help ensure a safer computing experience.' (windows.microsoft.com)

Digital Driver's License

In the US, particularly in the state of Delaware, officials are hoping to transition to digital licenses; the idea is to integrate the smart phone technology into police work. They are hoping that prototypes can be developed this year and if successful, the digital licenses will be offered by 2016.

This new initiative raises the recurring theme of privacy with the use of technology. Licenses are used as a means of identification; a person handing over their phone to the police or any other authoritative figure to validate their identity becomes vulnerable to what that person decides to do with the information on the phone.

I'm thinking with this new development, we may also see the development of security apps that will target this problem.
